Under the student visa policy students can lodge their visas in two ways
- E-Visa Lodgment Online: by using any of the authorized e-visa agent or MARA agent.
- Paper Lodgment at one of the VFS office across India : Fill all application form and submit them with all education certificates and supporting documents at any of the VFS office in India. A list of the VFS offices can be found at: http://www.vfs-au-in.com/Contact.aspx.
The process of Australian student visa begins with the application for admission in university / institute. Then an offer letter would be sent first where they accept you to join a course, based on which you need to pay the first semester fee and overseas student health cover and get a Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE).
Students must also demonstrate that they have access to sufficient funds for their tuition fee, living expenses, travel expenses and medical insurance for the first 2 years of their study. The living expenses are calculated at AUD 18,000 per year
Sub-Classes of Student Visa
Australian student visas are broadly classified into the following seven sub-classes based on the education sector / course by the student.

All Indian students for all the above visa sub-classes are classified under Assessment Level 4.
One major condition while applying for a student visa is that the applicant’s immediate family members must be financially supporting the student visa application and all funds of tuition fee living costs and travel costs should be shown by this immediate family members. The funds available must be held for a minimum six months with an approved financial intuition.

- Visa Application Fee: AUD 540/- or INR 24,100 draft drawn in favor of “Australian High Commission” payable in New Delhi
- Form 157A Student Visa Application Form
- Form 956 (In case of using our services or any representative)
- Form 919 / Form M67
- Additional Information Form 1221
- Original Passport & one neat set photocopy of Passport (all pages)
- 4 recent passport size pictures (head & shoulder only)
- Letter of Offer issued by CRIOCOS registered education provider & Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (e-CoE)
- Academic Certificates (originals) including all course completion certificates
- IELTS Score report
- Work Experience Certificate (if applicable)
- Evidence of Relationship with sponsor
- Evidence of Liquid funds available in students name or sponsor (Education Loan, Copies of Fixed deposits, Bank statements etc)
* Please note that the funds like bank balance or fixed deposits should be held for a minimum 6 months
- Evidence of Income (IT returns, pay slips, GPF account etc)
* Affidavit of support from sponsor
- Self Declaration from Student
Documents of dependents included in the application- Birth Certificate, Marriage certificate and evidence of marriage (if applicable)
If any of your dependents are 5-17 years of age (inclusive in the application), documentation confirming their enrolment in an Australian school and Under 18 Consent Form
Please note:
- A declaration from the applicant’s parents / sponsor stating the nature of their relationship to student and they should confirm they will support the applicant financially during their studies in Australia. The applicant must also include full contact details of their parents / sponsor (including residential address and postal address, if different, and telephone numbers)
- Evidence of sponsor’s occupation and annual income – letter from the sponsor’s employer confirming employment, and including full contact details (address and telephone numbers), and sponsor’s personal bank statements and tax returns for the last 3 years;
- Loan disbursement letter stating the amount disbursed
- In the case of company sponsorship, balance sheet and bond signed with the company;
- Evidence of income sourced from agriculture such as evidence of ownership and valuation of land, income statement from the regional authority (eg Patwari or Mandel office) and receipt of sales, and J forms;
- Evidence of rental income such as evidence of ownership of property and lease deeds;
- Evidence of any income from retirement, pensions etc should also be provided
