Visas are the permission that is granted by any country to a traveller permitting him/her entry into that country for a specific purpose. A visa may also entitle the visa holder to other privileges, such as a right to study, work etc. and may be subject to conditions. Most visas are stamped into the traveller’s passport while few countries have adopted evisa technology where visas are issued electronically and linked to the applicant's passport, eliminating paper and stickers.

There is a large range of visas that may be applied for, for a variety of purposes, including tourist visa, study (or student) visa, work visa, partner, finance or family member visa, permanent residence visa etc.

Each country has different requirements and different processes and rules when you apply for a visa. You must understand the specific requirements of the visa you are applying for and fill the application form and follow the other processes to get your visa. For most countries you can apply for a visa online via their official websites.

Our emphasis here is about student visas and there are different requirements for a student visa for ebvery country. You can generally begin your student visa application once you receive confirmation of your enrolment in your chosen university/college. It is best to apply as early as possible as visa processing times can vary from country to country

Most students will require:

  • Evidence of enrolment in a recognised educational institution ( CAS or COE or I-20 or unconditional offer)
  • Evidence of your capacity to cover the cost of course tuition fees, living costs and travel costs for you and your family members for the duration of your stay.
  • A passport valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay.
  • Evidence of your English language proficiency (like IELTS OR TOEFL or PTE A) and undertake health examinations from approved clinic and/or police checks
  • Most students will also have to undergo a personal Interviews with visa officer
